Linking a Google account to your School-GIT profile is completely optional . It provides a convenient alternative way to sign in and some additional profile customization.
You can link Google at two different times:
When you link Google, School-GIT requests access to:
We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, calendar, or any other Google services. The permission is used solely for authentication and profile display.
Once Google is linked, you can sign in by clicking the Google option on the login page. This works completely independently of GitHub — you don't need GitHub access to sign in.
