Desktop shell
Desktop owns the visible shell experience: wallpaper, icons, menus, OS controls and app-launch interactions. WindowManager owns app windows and runtime resolution.

Built-ins and installed apps
Built-in system applications can resolve directly to React components. Installed Web Bro applications use their stable app IDs and local installation metadata rather than being hard-coded into the Desktop source.

OS release boundary
Desktop and WindowManager are compiled into the OS runtime release. Their source files may HMR during development, but installed users receive changes through the OS version system.
